SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Social Responsibility Projects of Urla

EÇEV

The Aegean Contemporary Education Foundation (EÇEV) was established in 1995 with the aim of contributing to the education of secular and enlightened generations who believe in the gains of the republic and democracy, who are equipped with contemporary and universal cultural values, who think scientifically and critically, and who create equal opportunities in education. As a "public interest organization" founded in Izmir in pursuit of this vision, it aims to ensure that children and young people of all ages have access to the opportunities of "equal and talent-oriented education", one of the most fundamental human rights, and to enable them to participate in society as cultured, knowledgeable, skilled and productive individuals.

All proceeds from the fairy tale readings held every Friday-Saturday-Sunday at the Sihirli Kitap-Kahve-Konuk Evi are donated to EÇEV. In addition, trainers and parents can request a story time on any day and at any time. Supporting social responsibility projects is our main goal.

THE OUR HOME 4 PROJECT

The Our Home 4 Project, initiated in 2014, is carried out by the Urla Friendship Association.

The Our Home 4 Project is an educational, cultural, and artistic project aimed at reducing the gap between successful children from economically disadvantaged families with low educational levels residing in Urla and students studying in other schools in the city. The project also implements an open educational approach to parents, siblings, and neighboring families of the children. It provides support to children in the subjects they need with the help of volunteer teachers, and also includes hobby hours, enabling children to express themselves in many areas such as theater, music, swimming, ice skating, painting, and handicrafts.
